Executive Overview
Ward Kamo is a senior executive, board chair, and governance adviser with nearly 30 years’ experience operating at the intersection of health systems, asset stewardship, and public accountability.
He currently serves as Chief Executive of a statutory indigenous health governance entity established under national reform, and as senior executive of a tribal organisation with direct stewardship of NZ$60m in assets across fisheries and property. He also chairs a commercial investment trust with approximately NZ$85m under management, delivering consistent returns and undertaking capital and debt restructuring to improve cash yield and long-term value.
His career has focused on establishing, stabilising, and leading organisations in complex, politically sensitive, and highly regulated environments.

Chair — Te Kawerau a Maki Investment Trust
Chair of a commercial investment entity with approximately NZ$85m in assets under management, delivering consistent returns and leading capital and debt restructuring.

Council member of a major publicly funded tertiary education institution. Member of the Audit, Risk & Finance Committee and the Human Resources Committee.
